I don’t know about you, but I liked the days before nutritional value was up-front-and-personal in my face.
NYC passed city laws forcing all commercial food businesses (Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, McDonalds, Subway, to name a few) to publicly place their foods’ nutritional value.
Public really means public in NYC, as the “walk-through” McDonald’s near my apartment in Spanish Harlem (hence this photo) has a “Nutritional Value Board” set outside the walk-through window.
Not only is this window sort of AWKWARD (guess you can’t have a drive through in a crowded city, right?) but the nutritional value staring at you in size 100 typeface from a block away is sort of AWKWARD too.
Makes me rethink my sweet tea. Who knew that stuff was 230 calories a serving?
