I don’t know…these are great, but a little too…girl power.
That said, you know how I always wanted to work at a guy mag? Well now that I’m here, I find myself wanting to talk about makeup and watch chick flicks—I’ve instituted chick flick Thursday and seen two, disgustingly estrogen-filled movies.
I don’t think I mind being a girl. Nope, don’t mind at all. Lately, especially this week, I’ve been feeling like more of a woman—whatever that means.
But I digress—
How was the party last night? I can’t wait to see you tomorrow! I’ll call you— I’ll be on the road tonight from 7-9, then taking my pookey out to dinner…

Give me a call, I’m at Kaits then staying in to do laundry catch up with some projects …. hating on work right now because I’m so inspired elsewhere (hence the multiple emails about things you don’t understand bc I don’t have time to explain them to you ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

hahahah I know. I’m frustrated I don’t have time to think about all this stuff on a greater scale, with you.And I won’t lie—I really have no clue what’ going on, or where you want things to go.
Things I do know: you’re extremely well-researched. You know your shit. I’m interested in what’s in your head right now.
Our minds together = devine madness. Can’t wait to talk about this stuff—we will tonight…

ANON #1 just stopped by - you know what? He’s really rude and full of himself, without realizing it (in that natural way peopel behave where you’re like, “You don’t mean to hurt my feelings, but you speak down to me all the time yet what you say is always so smart and right that I forget the fact you’re not treating me the way a person deserves to be treated”) Will explain tonight .He and ANON #2 WERE meant to be together.

woah, what a turn around. Never heard you say this before!
I’ve come to this conclusion about writer types: Boys, in general, think they’re the shit. Boys, with bylines, are absolutely insufferable.*
*Especially those who write with a phoney self-effacing tone “oh-I-don’t-know-what-im-talking-about-i-never-get-laid, wait, yes-i-do”

I thought that about ANON #1 though, and like because he’s so smart you think “well I guess that’s OK.” but really even if you are freakin’ the world’s smartest person … people like you because you are kind and fun and compassionate.
that is my platform.

….you are so right. No ammount of intellegence can compensate for a complete disregard of others’ feelings.
ANON #3 taught me this, too. He’s so nice, Sam. So generous. Really….so giving without even trying that hard. And when he cares about you—he cares. And you know—you can be equally smart, and still be this way.

Wow.
That is why when something like awkward launches, and no matter how big it will be, it really is about making people feel good about the everyday. And who they are in the everyday, regardless of the circumstances (read: you are always going to feel bad or uncomfortable or unloved)
I like when these realilizations happen - it grounds me again - like last night at this GQ party I went to, you get so wrapped up in “the beautiful people” etc. It’s fun but not the end all, ya know?
YESSSS! God yes. So true.
I believe in the same thing. It comes down to feeling good—and making others feel good—every day. The little things. That’s what makes a life full. Not the stupid rat race—the never ending competition…
But it’s fun to experience, ya? You can look back, forever, and be like “ya, I was at a GQ party…”
You’re so evolved, Sam.
