Because I live in Allentown, because I was too tired to get off the couch, because Rachel Ray wasn’t on, because I’ve been out of the T.V circuit for so long I don’t even know what I like anymore, I watched ‘Gossip Girls’ last night for the first time—an experience I’ll never re-live, and deeply regret ever living in the first place. The acting blew, the premise was contrived—and I didn’t even particularly like the outfits. Everything in the episode felt like something I’d seen before, and by the time the hour was up I felt like 10 days had passed and I had come down with a debilitating illness. In other words, ‘Gossip Girls’ represents an ersatz life without original thought, built on cliches and vapid chatter. Bring back ‘Felicity’. Someone.
