Remember when you were like 13, and your favorite insult was “That’s so gay!”
It was almost a pre-Paris Hilton, “That’s hot” statement. They make no sense, but for some social-cultural reason, our demographic has picked them up and translated them to negative/positive connotations.
Katy Perry takes the non-homosexual gay statement farther in her song, “Ur So Gay.”
I think we’ve all related to this song at one point or the other. Especially her line, “I just wish you’d be real with me.”
And of course, her one-word insult at the end. Classic.
