AWKWARD: Because Perfection is Boring: If I knew then what I know now.

  1. If I knew then what I know now.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have done differently at age

3-YEARS-OLD: I wouldn’t have cut my bangs with scissors behind the couch. This incident naturally led to an obsession with cutting my hair.

6-YEARS-OLD: Quit dance class. I may not have been petite and probably towered over all the other girls, but hey. Tall girls can do twirls and spins too.

9-YEARS-OLD: Cried during the 3rd grade because I couldn’t do the assignment correctly. Geez, relax girl!

12-YEARS-OLD: Kept silent as a girl in my 5th grade class was made fun of for being “dirty.”  Her name was Becca; and the other girls used to sing each letter as if it were the song to BINGO (hence: dog). Sing it with me: B-E-C-C-A. Girls are so cruel.

15-YEARS-OLD: Lost my virginity. It was way too young, and my mom would absolutely kill me if she ever read this.

18-YEARS-OLD: Chosen my college to follow a boy. You will only break up with them one week before starting classes at that college, and then wonder for the rest of your breathing days just how your life would have been different if you had chosen [insert college/job/place to live] here.

21-YEARS-OLD: Neglected to see my friends, spoke too much and listened to little. Pushed aside issues with silence. Refused to connect with the world beyond me. Forgot how to find unspoken confidence in humbleness.

    Now you know.
