We all have our moments of self-doubt.
Your best friend criticized your outfits. Your boss hates your latest assignment.
It’s those moments that can break you into a thousand pieces.
It’s time to hang in.
In the past year and a half, I’ve met many talented, passionate women. They have served as friends and role models. Without them, I would be lost.
I have my moments. I find myself crying in a darkened room,
questioning myself because I don’t feel as though I’m good enough.
But it’s time for a change.
Goodbye, self-doubt. Hello, confidence.
I know that I may fail. I’ve heard criticism from friends and
colleagues. My family thinks I’m crazy. Day by day, it seems like an
endless struggle. If no one else believes in me, then how will I
succeed? It’s hard to remain optimistic when the odds are stacked
high.
It’s been a long time coming.
Yet now, more than ever, I believe in myself and my abilities.
And it feels great.
I know there will always be others that will get me down. An old colleague of mine recently made an off-hand remark that there must be something wrong with me-after all, why else hadn’t I gotten a national magazine under my belt after numerous internships?
The world can be tough. I’ve developed a thicker skin, to deflect
comments. I have a support group in my corner, ready to cheer me on if
I call for help.
It’s time to start believing in yourself. You’re the only one that can do it.
Peel away your self-doubt.
Ignore that pesky voice in the back of your head that tells you it’s out of reach.
It’s not. You will only succeed if you believe.
So take a moment, stop, and breathe. It may be hard to do alone. Build up your network of people that support you.
It may take five or ten years. But I promise you will achieve your dream.
Time to start living.
